Privacy Policy

This page is maintained by The Day Before to explain what information we collect when you use our website and daily email, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Last updated: July 20, 2026

Introduction

When you use The Day Before (the “Service”), you trust us with your information. This Privacy Policy is meant to help you understand what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It applies to our website, our daily email newsletter, and any API or Model Context Protocol (MCP) endpoints we operate under the thedaybefore.email and thedaybefore domains.

We designed the Service to collect as little personal information as reasonably possible while still delivering a daily forecast. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your email address to build advertising profiles about you.

Information we collect

We collect information in two ways: information you give us, and information we get from your use of the Service.

Information you give us

  • Email address when you subscribe to the daily newsletter or send us a message at hello@thedaybefore.email.
  • Account credentials (email and password) if you are granted access to an administrative area of the Service.
  • Message content you send us, including partnership or advertising inquiries and support requests.

Information we get from your use of the Service

  • Log data such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and timestamps, generated automatically when you visit the site or open an email.
  • Email engagement data such as deliveries, opens, clicks, bounces, and unsubscribe events, reported by our email delivery provider.
  • Cookies and similar technologies used to keep you signed in to any administrative area and to remember basic preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • send you the daily forecast and other email you have requested;
  • operate, maintain, and improve the Service and its forecasts;
  • respond to your questions, feedback, and partnership inquiries;
  • protect the Service and our subscribers from abuse, fraud, and technical problems; and
  • comply with legal obligations.

We do not use the content of your email address or messages to train third-party generative AI models.

How AI is used in our content

The forecasts, editorial commentary, and trade ideas published on the Service are generated by a proprietary pipeline that uses third-party large language models together with market data and calendars. We send prompts and market context to model providers to produce each daily issue. We do not send your email address, account information, or personal messages to those model providers as part of that generation process.

How we share information

We share personal information only in the limited circumstances described below.

  • Service providers. We use vetted third parties to host the site and database, deliver email, generate AI content, and provide market data. These providers may process personal information on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
  • Legal reasons. We may disclose information if we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request; to enforce our terms; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of The Day Before, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers. If The Day Before is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share your email address with advertisers.

Categories of service providers

The Service is built on top of infrastructure and tools provided by third parties, including:

  • cloud hosting, database, and authentication for the website and admin area;
  • an email delivery provider for the daily newsletter and transactional email;
  • large language model providers used to generate daily editorial content; and
  • market data providers used to fetch quotes, calendars, and company information.

Each provider only receives the information reasonably necessary to perform its function.

Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of first-party cookies necessary for the Service to function, such as keeping an administrator signed in. We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or cross-site retargeting cookies. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies; doing so may limit some functionality.

Data retention

We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed and for a reasonable period afterward for suppression, deliverability, and audit purposes. Message content you send us is kept for as long as needed to answer your inquiry and to keep a record of the conversation. Log data and engagement data are kept for a limited operational period and then aggregated or deleted.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe at any time. Every issue of the daily newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. You may also email hello@thedaybefore.email to request removal.
  • Access, correction, and deletion. You may ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you by writing to the address above. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law.
  • Marketing preferences. We only send email you have asked to receive. We do not sell your address to third-party marketers.

Security

We work to protect The Day Before and our subscribers from unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure, or destruction of information we hold. Among other things, we use transport encryption (HTTPS) for the Service, restrict administrator access to the database, and rely on reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

The Service is intended for adults interested in financial markets and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

International users

The Service is operated from the United States. If you access it from another country, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or in any country where our service providers maintain facilities. By using the Service, you consent to that transfer.

Regional disclosures

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, such as the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@thedaybefore.email. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any right you have under applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, through the newsletter. Your continued use of the Service after a change becomes effective means you accept the revised Policy.
